I would like to think… But I worry that these companies are captured… They’re not moving in reaction to market incentives, but other incentives that are far higher up the chain that they have determined are more important than the consumer or the market’s feedback… which is scary if you ponder that
99% of the time money is the answer. So you have to wonder, are lower interest rate loans for ESG rated companies to cover things like payroll or expansion worth paying upwards of $500k for membership? Similarly, are BIPOC with bad or non-existent portfolios being hired for significantly lower salaries to justify DIE initiatives since creative work quality is no longer a concern for most advertisers this decade? We already know corporations are more than happy to front the bill for an abortion which costs them far less than paying for female employees who identify with having a uterus for birthing purposes maternity leave.
"One individual holding heterodox views with conviction can, indeed, push the human race forward. Whereas ideological conformity can only destroy any hope of progress and human flourishing."
Amen. That's why The Great Homogenization will fail.
Great analysis. BTW, if Apple is successful in removing “all” of the CO2 from the atmosphere, life on Earth will cease to exist. Actually, that will happen before we reach 0. “Plants, including trees and all our food crops, are capable of growing much faster at higher levels of CO2 than present in the atmosphere today. Even at today's concentration of 400 ppm plants are relatively starved for nutrition. The optimum level of CO2 for plant growth is about 5 times higher. CO2 is the giver of life. We should celebrate CO2 rather than denigrate it as is the fashion today.” (https://sepwww.stanford.edu/sep/jon/climate.html)
Perhaps this is why Mr. Bill Gates wants to down & bury trees or so I hear… We have windmills killing animals left and right - rare ones like whales and bald eagles, and rare pumas down in Chile… at this point, it’s hard to believe this is an environmental movement at all, but an anti-human movement… Nihilistic and self-destructive…
At least two of those actors (including the "mansplainer" pictured above) appeared on recent seasons of Curb Your Enthusiasm and were much more entertaining--a show that, for what it's worth, spent one of those seasons poking fun at the very trend of DEI in corporate boardrooms (Netflix and Hulu, specifically).
Nope, you're actually wrong for once Brett. This spot accurately depicts the next generation of unimaginative, boring and ugly robotic people with incredibly low EQ who work in SV now. Different decade, same sociopathic cyborgs.
Nailed it. Have we reached peak ESG/DIE insanity?
